I have sparrows nesting in my loft , there is a small hole where an overflow pipe should be and the birds have gotten in there, thing is i hate birds they really freak me out , all those wings flappin in noisies and beaks ~shivers~
How do I get rid of them , I could send my cat up there to scare the bejesus outta them , but I dont want to be cruel .

Not wanting to be cruel is a good thing,, can you hang on until the nesting is over?, they may have some young they're feeding.

yup I can hold off til then ..but I was told by the rspca that sparrows can have 3 broods ...eeek!! dont think my nerves can handle that .lol
I don't have advice on this but wanted to sympathise, birds really freak me out and this would be my worst nightmare ever. I am so bad I don't even leave windows open more than a couple of mm!

Please don't do anything until the babes have flown the nest .. they won't come in the house, perhaps leave it until late summer, just keep checking that mum has stopped flying in.
last year we had rats in the roof i would have been quite happy if they had been sparrows wait till you see them feeding the babys outside then bung the hole up with somthing till you can get it fixed properly

bats ,, sparrows ...what the differnace they all flutter ...ughhhhhhh.
im scared to go to bed here.
