Farmers creosote question
I have approx 100M in length x 6 Foot high old fence that requires covering. It has been covered with fence stain a few years ago and is now looking rather poor. Im looking a cheapest option with lasting effective results if thats possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Creosote is available to comercial operators with appropriate health and safety qualifications.
Consequently it's only available in barrel quantities.
It's still sold in a number of farmers shops in these quantities. However having used it I can say it's nasty stuff. As well as it being carcenogenic, if you get it on your skin it will make you come out in itchy blotches on exposure to light.
I'd steer clear
all the wise old folk paint the fence with old engine oil,
it looks crap but will last forever!!
buildersmate is right it is a banned produst to the general public due to the cancerous connections.
as is jake the peg, you can still obtain it from a farm supply shop...
but going back to a farm fence......... most farm fence material's are pressure treated anyway,so they wont need treating for 15 years before rot sets in?
