low temp and wisteria

My wisteria was just about to bloom with hundreds of flowers. I was thrilled. This morning the temp was 28 and the whole bush looks wilted. Will my beloved plant survive?

Although that low of a temperature should not be fatal to your vine, it probably spells an end to the blooms. Be sure to monitor its growth throughout the summer and prune and dead or blackened branches before winter, since the buds for next springs blooming are set in the fall... Best of luck!

I've seen many blooms ruined on wisteria, late frosts being the usual culprit, but as Clanad rightly says its not usually fatal. Fortunately the season here in the UK is usually just long enough for wisteria to bloom twice in the same year, usually May-june (first bloom) and again in August but to a lesser degree. Good Luck.

My Wisteria has never flowered. Where am I going wrong? Anyone any tips?

aceduce0, H ow old is you Wisteria ? they are not a plant that flowers early in its life, at least 5 years is about normal and maybe another 2 before it becomes prolific. Fortunately it dose not have a high demand for water.It should benifit from a mulch of compost in late autumn and again in spring, also a rose or high potash fertilizer given in spring may help younger plants to become established, older plants however need less attention. Thanks Thunderbird. The plant is about 4years old now so I will leave it a few more years to see what happens.
