Three month rent in Greenock

I know someone who is looking for furnished accommodation for two (separate bedrooms) in or within reach of Greenock for the three months of Jun,Jul,Aug. They are willing to commute within reason and have contacted letting agents who seem to offer only a minimum let of six months. There is shared accommedation available at college residences but this does not appeal. Any suggestions ?

There is no legal basis for the short assured tenancy to be 6 months and there are lets for less - often the owner, not the letting agent - will want longer lets for various reasons.

If you press the agents they will be able to offer shorter terms. there are other rental agreements as well as SATs available. Generally the months deposit, and rental process requirements suit a 6 month minimum arrangement, but have a look at : http://www.email4property.co.uk/greenock/estate-agents.htm which has some of the local agents and just call and discuss what you need or see the ARLA site and just press the agents to get what you want and don't be passed off as requesting something that is not possible.

You could try an ad in the local paper as well to ask for a let, but as you are coming to the summer period, some of the short lets will go for more lucrative holiday terms.
