Shocking!!!
27 Answers
when we moved into our house , the water pipes were lead, so we had those removed and had plastic pipes put in. However since we did it , we have noticed that we get small electric shocks from the taps(it feels like a buzzing through the fingers) and also from the metal surround around the hob, does anyone have an explanation as to why this is happening.?

Hi Hard@it, If you are refering to me,you should re-read my advice, I have advised kaz to have the earthing checked, but as you would obviously know if it is on a TT system the main earth is the Spike or Rod,so all I am saying is water it to give a better earth until it is checked out!
Raysparx There is no way I am referring to you, you always give sound advice, if I was referring to an ABer then I would put a name to my answer. Should you steel feel offended then I apologise. Hard@it
Cheers Hard'@it,no offence taken matey, cos we are all (well most of us) trying to give reasonable advice, aren't we, are you a sparky as well or just got a good knowledge of electrics? but as I say no offence taken and thanks for taking the time to reply, it is always hard to give advice without seeing the problem anyway, but I think as you rightly said doing away with the lead pipe it looks as though the good earth has gone with it, But obviously as you know you earth a pipe not use the pipe to earth the house, Cheers again, Ray
