my boyfriend and his friend (both are 18) are moving in to a flat and are both going to sign the lease and my boyfriend has said that i can go live there too and pay a third of rent and bills and such like - without having to sign the lease that is, and just give the money to them. is this okay to do? i mean okay without having to tell the estate agents or anyone?

many thanks

I'd check the tems of the contract first, you don't want to get him into trouble with thr Landlord, it may well be ok for you to live there, but i'd check first.
I'd be careful, you pay a third,,,,your name not on the lease and even if its ok with the landlord,if things go wrong you have no right or say with anything!!

If you do move in your boyfriend and his friend will be in breach of their lease and could be given notice to quit. From the landlords point of view there could be an issue with his insurance and if there are several flats in the one building a potential fire risk because of the number of tenants. Best bet is to find a flat that will accommadate you all legally. I am a landlord.
