My horse is Dark bay / Black bay the stallion is Brown and White. My horse's parents were both Grey and the stallions parents are mother dark bay & Father brown and white. Although I dont care what colour the foal would be as long as it is OK and everything goes smoothly through the pregnancy, I'm intrigued as to what colour the foal may be. (I have read the sites about base colours etc but they dont have any info about my combination).

Any ideas?

hi mrs r,i have a feeling the mare could throw any combination of colour to be honest! my friends mare is an apaloosa, she was bred with another apaloosa and 1st time she threw a black foal and 2nd time she threw a coloured black and white so im not sure....xx
I think there is a very good chance you'll get a coloured foal. Black n white probably, but it could be any colcour. Do let us know next year.

Will do - thanx for that.
You Will have to find out if any colours are dominant or recessive and then it might be easier to guesstimate

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that the dark bay would be more dominant as my horse's sire and dam were both greys but produced my horse which is dark bay. And the stallions dam is dark bay where the sire was white and dark bay. So would I be more likely to have a dark bay foal? Its all getting confusing!!
