I have one of these beautiful grasses in my garden. It has grown quite large which is not a problem in itself but I am wondering if when the grasses die off at the end of the season, should I cut the base leaves right back close to the ground?

I would leave any dead leaves on over the winter and remove them in early spring the following year. to protect your hands from the razor sharp leaves, wear stout garden gloves and tug at any dead material to remove it.
