One quick way to assess the going rate for CDs is to go to a boot sale yourself and simply see what others are asking. Another is to trawl eBay through the "advanced search" facility, title by title until you feel you know enough. Remember that the selling price and postage together represent the eBay value, plus there can be significant fluctuations depending on demand. Beware though, certain artists and titles command more than others and multi-artist compilations are in a category of their own with some being sought after while others are scarcely worth the value of the plastic. Finally, you can check out second hand stores and be mindful that you would probably have to aim slightly below their prices. No doubt there are many ABers who might want to know what you are selling but there is no way to get together on this site.

Thanks for your indepth answer Karl.
Like I said I am doing a car boot this weekend so i'll no way of finding prices. I will be setting up stall.
If anyone has rough ideas (not ebay prices) it would be greatly appreciated.
Also I had no intention of selling any goods on AB but thanks again for your effort Karl.

Prices I am thinking of selling.
CD Double = 4.00
CD Albums = 3.00
CD Singles = 1.00
Or is that too expensive?

Any help greatly appreciated :-)
sounds about right to me Redsun. I go to lots of carboots and that doesn't sound too dear as long as you don't mind haggling down 50p if you're asked:)

Thanks Noxlumos thats just the answer i was looking for. Your help is greatly appreciated. I can now get organised for my car boot.
I did a car boot two weeks ago and my collection was up for sale - proabbly around 300 as well.

I went out at 1 each on them (imho 3 is far too much) and I came back with around 100 left. Every week at car boots I see people selling CDs at around 2-3 and I see them week after week selling them as there are no buyers.

Bear in mind that you can (maybe) legally download albums for as little as 2 from www.allofmp3.com - why pay more?

I guess it does also depend on your music taste and what sort of area you live in - if your music taste is 'older' then the albums are likely to be only around 4.99 in the shops - if they are all current and selling at 10.00 in the shops, then I guess 3 is fine. also, if you live in a prosperous area, then prices are going to be different to a run down area.
