Can anyone figure out why Kim Wilde is the face of Holland and Barret?

I don't want to be rude or anything, but at best she looks like a regular person, at worst a slightly ageing overweight one. Is that meant to be a testimonial for healthy eating? Why don't they use someone super fit or who has aged really well. No offence Kim, its just that the issue is probably exacerbated by the fact that those of us who remember you, remember how you used to look and if herbal supplements kept you looking like that, then that really would be a selling point!

1. Some of us like cuddly birds,Hermit!

2. But I take your point. The only thing I can think of is that she is known to be a very keen gardener, she's always seen at the Chelsea Flower Show, had flowers named after her etc. It's a bit tenuous but there you are...

I take point 1 cully, and she does still look quite cute it has to be said.

As for point 2, you are right, its pretty tenuous. Perhaps H&B think that as she grows stuff it'll encourage us to believe their products are just as natural. I think I'll need a bit more convincing.

i wouldn't describe kim wilde as overweight.....but understand what you are saying..... who would you have chosen?
why have ads got to be filled with thin people? Maybe she really believes in the product?
Speaking as a cuddly bird lol... cully...marry me !

I think, fat rascal, that I would chosen someone athletic like Sally Gunnel or even Jonathon Edwards -he can't be too pricey as Ultralase use him. I suppose it all depends on budget.

As for kazza12345, I don't think adverts have to be full of thin people, I mean look at Dawn French and Chocolate oranges. It just seems odd for a supposed health food company cos no matter how much we might wish it otherwise, being overweight is less healthy than not being unless of course, you fall into freezing water in which case larger people have a better survival chance.

I'm with cully on this one, i too like cuddly birds and do like to see them on telly, not stereotyped by stick thin birds with no personality
