I've got some "normal size" (if there is such a thing!) hanging baskets. How often do I need to water them and how much water will they need each time?

Thanks Clanad. Unfortunately (unless I missed it), that thread doesn't tell me how much water to use each time.
in the current hot weather they'll need watering morning and evening until the compost is fully moist. If you buy some water-retaining crystals from the garden centre and put some of them in the compost this will help retain the moisture although ideally they should have been mixed in before the plants were added.

Thanks Wendy S. I'll have to stick me finger in to check coz they're over head height! :o)

I water our hanging baskets every night after the sun's gone down. I use approx a litre of water to each basket, which is usually enough to soak the roots. I must say, they are all looking quite beautiful, even in this heat!

Good luck.
