what type of lizard is this?

Found a lizard in our living room (we have no garden just a small flower bed). It is three inches long and has silvery eyes with black zig zag going across them. An earth coloured body with very faint white and black spots going diagonally across but faintly. Moves very fast too with no claws on the toes. What do i feed it and what kind is it?

If in addition to what you say, a thin black stripe can also be seen in the middle of its back, then I think it could be a common lizard (Podarcis muralis) which is a wild creacher and is best left to fend for itselfin the wild where it will catch fly, insects etc.

A bit more information for you on the Common Lizard ICEMANSAV. As you will see it is a protected species, although not from capture like the Sand Lizard, but still advisable to let it go and live its life with the rest of its family.

Great, I think you should feel proud that its been released back into the wild where it belongs, well done!

I could never understand why my old dad would not allow me to try and raise wild birds/animals when I was a kid,I only began to understand his reasons as I grew older.
