Another thing pointed out on my new flat's survey...
It's the top flat of a victorian conversion, and there is "penetrating dampness affecting the party wall in the bedroom, probably due to defects at the base of the chimney, which need urgent attention".

I'm assuming this is the responsibilty of the freeholder/management compnay, but does anyone know what would be involved in rectifying it and how much inconvenience it will involve?
