Hi GG,
According to my encyclopedia on Garden Plants and Flowers, established shrubs (any) deciduous or evergreen can be moved to a new part of the garden in autumn or spring, but not when the soil is frozen or waterlogged.
Forgive me asking but is the garden you are transporting it to, far away? If so, it would be best to prepare the new site first, so the uprooted plant has the least amount of shock.
If you need any other info (because of it needing acid soil) please reply on here, and I'll get back to you. Don't want to presume either way how much you know!
