I recently had problems with my PC closing down etc I was advised the cause was related to start up and ABers were helpful the problem was resolved temporarily then returned and was taken awayay and tested on bench only to be returned as not faulty. It was OK for a day although the engineer did say my Logitech cordless mouse might be the fault ( he also said all cordless mouses rubbish!!) Today I had problems starting up and having replaced mouse and keyboard am up and running
However the mouse and keyboard are old and I do not like them in comparison
Can I have advice please as to whether others have had problems with Logitech or other cordless items and can recommend alternatives more similar in use many thanks

I have the Logitech mx1000 cordless laser mouse, and it's the best mouse I've ever used. Can't fault it in the slightest.

I bought the Logitech mouse and keyboard last September
and have been delighted
Fact remains that this morning my PC would not start up and this PM it did with the old wired keyboard and mouse and by comparison they are horrid but not quite sure what to do next

well i can't see it being the keyboard and mouse. that shouldn't cause startup problems.

look for driver updates on logitech web site, you never know!

i have experience of windows failing to detect a keyboard and thus would not boot up (k/board was not plugged in)--so, maybe the problem then is the communication between the k/board and pc--either set it up on someone else's pc--one who uses wired k/board--and see what happens or take it back to where u got it--it is still under guarentee--i install and troubleshoot pc's and have found startup problems on a number of occasions being related to k/board faults, including connection to pc--cheers

I use Logitech cordless keyboards and mice on both my machines and never had a problem. I have however experienced problems with Window mis-detecting USB devices in general - for example on one machine with a Plantronics headset, and on the other with a Canon all-in-one printer with card reader. In both cases the machine failed to boot with the device connected, but the problem was not with the device itself. or its drivers, but with the USB root hub driver. Try removing all the USB components from the device manager (using your PS2 keyboard and mouse). Restart windows and let it re-detect the USB components. Then try reconnecting you Logitech keyboard and mouse.

thanks ajmmac the mouse and keyboard are linked and my husbands PC has a similar but not identical system - I will try on that first, have checked batteries,looked on website for update camioneur but not sure of my model as it doesn't seem to show one on either item - will have to go in loft and find box and look out my receipt from E-Buyer if I can definitely identify keyboard or mouse as causing fault and claim under guarantee.
Certainly I much prefer them to the older products I am now using
