Why are dusters yellow?

You can now buy them in blue and white, which is far more practical for washing. I think I've read somewhere that using the colour yellow, most of us are supposed to associate it with Spring, and therefore Spring cleaning, the time when the majority of people would buy dusters - in theory, that is!
