Convolvulus, Great Bindweed

I have just moved into my first property and my garden seems to be rife with this stuff. Any idea how I get rid og it or kill it off?

It's awful stuff - if you pull it up the smallest roots left can regenerate a new plant

You'll probably be best with a systemic weed killer like gylphoshate that'll work it's way down to the roots. Probably a few applications over a number of months

Bindweed is very easil killed by any glyphosate based weedkiller such as round up as mentioned above.

Make sure as many leaves as possible get sprayed with the stuff.

If it's covering ornamental plants, you can always paint it on the bindweed with a paintbrush. Laborious but well worth the effort.

As hammerman and jake say, gylphosphate based weedkiller is the thing, but its the method used also.

I got this method from Kew Gardens, and it works, put canes in the ground, train the stuff up the, they're climbers, once above your plants, then paint the leaves with the weedkiller.

It may look a bit unsightly at first, but once its gone, its gone for good,
