gas pipe extension

I want to install a flueless gas fire onto the wall opposite to where the gas fire is now in the chimney breast.
Is it possible to extend the gas supply pipe across a 12 ft floor? I'm thinking of laying it under my asphalt flooring if I can.

The obvious answer is see what a CORGI gas fitter advises is best. If you intend doing this yoursellf, then you would be breaking the law and worse, risking your life and others.

Yes it is possible.
Providing the pipe is big enough to supply the two applainces.

There is the further issue of ventilation. Flueless gas fire's require permenant ventilation. Any vents you have for the existing appliance would have to be enlarged to cope.

sheila, Gas supply pipes can be laid into asphalt / solid floors. Your corgi engineer would have to use tube that has a protective covering ( plus wrapping any joints that may have to be made ). As Postdog says, take advice from your engineer re- the best way to run the supply, there may be a better solution.
