Having moved some radiators, I am now left with two holes in the floor of some rooms (where the old pipes were). What is the best way to fill/plug them?

Hi, you might be able to buy some dowell that will fit exactly into the holes, measure them across then pop down to local builders yard or DIY store, secure them with a good quality wood glue or a little gripfill smeared around the edges of the dowell,, If the hole is to big for dowelling cut yourself some with a jig saw, good luck, Ray
Would corks from wine bottles do the trick?

Easily witlled down to size, and can be jammed in. I imagine that would be ok if you are going to lay carpets or such like on top.

Thanks guys
It depends on what you want to do with the floor. If you're putting down carpet, then there's no need to do anything really. If you're sanding the floorboards and using that as your finished floor, then best result would be to replace the board/s in question. Second best would be to use a 20mm (or best fit) cutter to cut a piece from scrap wood to fill the holes. Then shape this so it fits, & sand down.
Apparently, if you are sanding your floor, you can mix a bit of the dust with wood filler, and use it to fill the hole. Then it's the same colour as the rest of the floor.
