Hi trying to find a door bell for my daughters wendy house. I though I could pick one up for a few quid but these are the ones run through wires. Any idea where I can buy one with just a small battery so I can just screw it up without any wires and that does not cost a lot of money?
Lots of the shops which sell mostly cheapo junk often have battery powered remote control door bells, your kid would love it, as an aside they are also very popular with terrorists as a very cheap and simple way to detonate things like roadside bombs etc...
Sorry this is only half an answer at the moment. We bought one for gr daughter .It is two plastic stars large one is speaker small one bell press.pocket money price. Cant find out till after five where we got it.
What about using a bell - the metal type that you sound with a clapper? No batteries to run out! That's presuming you'd like something a bit different from a knocker. Oh, and a letterbox could be fun, too!
The cheapest variety have a pair of wires running to the bell-push, which just makes the contact to work the bell. The other wireless sort have little radio transmitters in the bell push and a little receiver at the other end. By their very nature these have more electronics in them and hence cost more - about 35 upwards. Why can't you fix up the simple sort using a bit of bell-wire? - its not difficult.
