Has anyone got any ideas on the best way to re-use water for the garden? Im thinking about a water butt to collect rainwater, but Ive heard about re-using bathwater via a grey water divertor. what is this & how does it work? how do you fit it? how much does it cost? thanks!!

They are not fixed completely level to ensure that water runs away . If you have downpipes at either side of your house, you don't want to install the water butt and then find that the angle of the guttering slopes in the opposite direction and that your butts remains empty when it rains !
It can be quite difficult to collect grey water and you will need a plumber to advice you. It depends entirely on the layout of the soil stacks in your house. Conventionally all used water ends up in a sewer stack, so you have to break the waste pipe from the bath before it reaches the stack and run a new pipe down to a storage system. This obviously needs to be done without the pipes showing. Its far easier to design this into a new house, but that doesn't help you much.
Hi, we are thinking of buying a "banbeater" which is a device to siphon off water from the bath via a hose. I guess you have to put the hose out through your bathroom window but it looks fairly straightforward, and you can then put the water straight onto the garden. We thought of having our bathwater diverted into a waterbut but that would be quite difficult in our property. Plus it's best used straightaway otherwise it gets a bit whiffy, as bathwater will have soap, hair etc in it.
