Twisted internal Victorian doors after being stripped

I have recently had six internal victorian doors stripped of excessive paint at the local strippers in preparation for minor repairs before undercoating and repainting. Unfortunately, two of the doors have twisted about an inch out of true. Is it possible to take out the wedges (what is the best way to do this), and retrue the doors in some way?

The usual way is to press them back to shape. Place something like 4x2 bearers in an appropriate shape on a floor lay the doors on them and place heavy weights on the deformed areas and keep an eye on them. Takes about a week. Can be speeded up by steaming the deformed areas.

Yes. One small part of my empire is a joiner's shop in which we have a very large metal press (something like a book press) with five large capstan head screws in which we press all sorts of distorted timbers straight. When doors twist, which is not uncommon, we tend to put them on bearers on the floor and apply weights selectively. If we have time, we sometimes hang twisted doors in a frame and put bolts on the outside face top and bottom, then heave the doors shut, shoot the bolts and leave them for two or three weeks. We never dismantle because you only end up with some impossibly shaped bits, we always press. It works, and is permanent.
