you can, as the fixings for the roller dont attach to the window itself but to the walls on the sides and above the windowsill, if you see what i mean.

Yes, but why wouldn't you wan't to fit them to the side walls or the lintel above which is the mormal way?

Hi, the walls are in a really bad state.....the last attempt led to my first try at plastering.... not good....lol.
