Strange orange burn marks on my washing...

I am trying to wash my partners work shirts but they keep coming out of the washer with small burn marks on them eventhough I am washing at 40 degrees. Can anyone suggest what this may be so that my boyfriend doesn't have to keep buying new shirts??!!

My husband is a domestic appliance engineer.
He thinks your bearings might be going in your washer.
Does it make a grinding sound when you manually spin the drum round yourself?
What make of machine is it?

People who smoke rolleys always get burn marks on their shirts. Washing, makes the holes show up. sigh!

i agree about the bearings going, i had the same problem the orange marks are rust from the machine.
