moving a butterfly bush

I live in KY can I move my butterfly bush in the fall or should I wait till spring?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Agreeing with Thunderbird, however adding that there's fall and there's fall... meaning, I'm familiar with your part of the U.S. and you won't expect a killing frost (normally) until November some time, while here in the western U.S. (at 5,000 feet above sea level) we can have one any time now. Having said that, make sure your bush is firmly into dormancy. Leaves should be shed, for the most part, and the tips of the branches will break off if bent much. Don't over fertilize just before dormancy, by the way... best of luck!
