Energy consumption of TVs and computers
2 Answers
Can anyone direct me to a site which gives some clear information regarding the actual energy consumption of typical home TVs and PCs? I keep hearing about much energy TVs use when in 'standby' mode, but I have never actually seen the figures. Likewise, I'd like to know how much energy a typical PC uses and how much this is reduced by switching the monitor off.

If your TV, computer monitor and computer were bought in the last decade or so and you still have its instruction manual, you can often find how much power it uses
