My mum has papered her bedroom in hideous gold patterned vinyly (shiny) paper. (what was she thinking!!) The room is huge so she doesn't want to redecorate - is there anyway that she can paint over it (in magnolia)? Is there a paint that will stick evenly to the paper or a primer base that we could use? Thanks!

In HomeBase (no I haven't got shares) I have bought a spray of stuff which alledgedly makes paint adhere to any surface. It made paint stick to old greasy melamine cupboard facing in our kitchen. can't remember what it was called and |i have thrown the can away but i think it was made by international and was on the shelf with thr spray paint and decorator hobby stuff. Not sure how far a can goes but it might be worth a shot. The only thing is that if the paper is printed with different inks, they might still take the paint differently asnd you would end up with a "shadow" of the pattern showing through the paint
Hi,

I don't know if you're still able to receive replies to this but I'd be really interested to talk to you about your mother's wallpapering experiences for a new TV programme about our home decorating disasters. I can be reached on [Contact details removed as per site policy. - AB Editor]. Look forward to hearing from you.
