We've just plastered the wall. We want to wallpaper on it but is there anything we need to put on new plastered wall first?

If the wall has just been skimmed or dry-lined & skimmed, leave it for a week or so, size the wall with a weak mixture of wallpaper paste, allow it to dry then paper it. If it's been plastered with browning & finish then you'll have to leave it for a couple of weeks. You could try cross-lining it first,if any stains come through it will show on the lining paper.
