Time limit for estate agent signs?

Does anyone know how long an estate agent is allowed to display 'let by' signs outside of a property?
There has been one next door (& right outside my lounge window!) for the last 18 months..Thanks.

I don't know if there is a limit, but from previous experience with buying houses, they are quite happy to leave them up forever, and will never collect them. I would suggest an angry phone call to them (blocking my light etc) and if that doesn't work, politely asking your neighbour if he would mind if you took it down.

I agree with LeMarchand - the agents have no interest in taking down the sign unless someone tells them (or does it themselves). It's free advertising for them.
