how many units, rigid or flatpack, what type of doors(solid wood or mdf)worktops laminate or granite,sink?...all these can change price considerably. if youve got 10 units with laminate tops n a s/steel sink this should be from abt 1500 with basic fitting upwards but kitcens go upto as much as u want t spend.goto t a hand made kitchen company and that could be 20000 easily.
Establish how much you can afford the spend and with that in mind visit a few organisations to see what kind of quality / features you can get for that kind of money.

thx guys- i figured around 7-9 grand. But i will defo figure a budget and try to stick to it!
They do offers at B & Q and Homebase. An 8-piece unit costs from 400 upwards which probably comes priced without the knobs and whistles. You should allow up to 100% of the price of the units to go towards the professional fitting.
it doesn't cost as much as you think to get a local carpenter to make one. mine cost 4000. I painted it myself, but it's custom made, proper wood and looks great
