No, that is wrong.

If rain drops then snow flakes ;-)

But both fall.
Rain drops is more how rain looks methinks, and it is convient that drop is also a verb and can be used to describe the weather.
Raindrops keep falling on my head...
We get rainfall.
And Snowdrops
You can refer to the singular rain �drop(s)� or snow �flake(s)�. But as said above, both fall from the sky - often in the UK - in large quantities.
