Patch on Roof Tiles

I have noticed that just below my chimney there is a solitary patch on some of the tiles below about 2 metres wide and runs down to the gutter. Does anyone know what this could be and is it likely to be expensive to fix?

I don't think it is bird droppings it looks more like a water stain but there doesn't appear to be any moss?
