Cleaning Nubuck Timberland Boots

Any ideas to remove cooking oil from wheat coloured Timberland nubuck boots. Had been sprayed with a protector 12 hours earlier.

Would a piece of kitchen towel not soak it off or failing that a brown paper bag may help then hold it near a kettle maybe the heat from the kettle would help bring the oil on to the bag.this is only a guess but its something i would try if no other answers.DONT PUT YOUR HANDS NEAR THE STEAM THOUGH
Buttress - not sure if it would work - but you might cover it with talcum powder and leave it for a day or two to see if it absorbs it - or is there is a shoe repair shop you can call to ask their opinion on what to do?
