I have recently had a new drive built.However the workmen
cut the bricks on the new drive.
they are now badly discoloured and I have tried hosing and
scrubbing to no avail. Is there something that will take the
white colour off?

Try using a brick / patio cleaner from your local DIY Outlet. And follow the instuctions on the bottle to the letter. esp the bit about eye & hand protection. :o)

Hire or purchase a jet wash. It cleans them up a treat but you do get rather wet and dirty.
