what's the latest time turf can be laid in the Autumn

I've always understood that turf can be laid at
anytime of the year; because the grass is
already rooted in soil.
Nevertheless, I would think that you need
a day when temps are well above freezing.
Say 10 degrees.(If only for comfort.)
