OK here's another program we can't remember. We think it was based on a planet outerspace and the characters all lived inside a big tree. to get out of the tree they slid down a helter skelter type slide. There was a professor who lived nearby and he was always growing unusual things in his garden. My son says there was some sort of creature like a sort of dog that walked aroung in a dustbin?? thanxs HDC

You're thinking of 'The Clangers' kurrantbun and it isn't that.
Sounds like one of the dreams I've been getting lately....
It sounds like a mixture of two programmes to me....One called the Adventure game (dodgy 70s sets three C list celebs would solve puzzles set by aliens each week) and a bit of Jamie and the Magic Torch thrown in for good measure? Sorry if I'm wrong.
Dr Snuggles?
It does sound like Jamie and the Magic Torch - which had the best theme tune ever (except perhaps Chorlton and the Wheelies). ----------------------------------- http://www.btinternet.com/~tv_timewarp/jamie_magic
_torch/index.htm
I'm thinking of the Adventure Game too. The one with Moira Stewart in??

Thanx guys but it wasn't any of the above programs the characters were not cartoon they were more like animated and the tree looked more real than in Jamie.
Sounds like either Jamie and the Magic and Torch or Dr Snuggles.
