A question for Buildersmate.

We have a oil fired boiler and circulation pump out in the garage wired with a programmer in the hotpress for easy access - I'm now going to fit a wireless room stat into the circuit to keep our childs ( due in april ) room at a constant temperature - my question is - " when the room stat. is satisfied, is it supposed to switch off the boiler, or pump,or both? or does it not really matter ?
There are no zone valves in the system and I'm not going to start ripping up floorboards to fit them.
Any advice useful would be welcome.

Hi woodchopper, I would say have the boiler and pump switching off together,no point in boiler running if the water isn't being pumped anywhere, How is Domestic water heated ?

By the oil fired boiler via cylinder (in hotpress ).

So you have a programmer for seperate heating/water if that is so, I would have boiler/pump switching off together,but we could probably do with a plumbers input as well, good luck, Ray

Single programmer for boiler which also heats the water at same time as the radiators.
