Cool radiator

I have a combi boiler, and all of my radiators are working fine, except one up stairs which is a different radiator to the others. It's silver, has rungs on it and goes up the wall in the bathroom. This radiator does heat up, but no where near as hot as the others.

Any suggestions before I call a plumber? Does it just need bleeding?

You can try bleeding it that does not cost anything !!!
if that does not work then try balancing it . If it still does'nt work then it will probably be the valve but that depends if it is a TRV or Conventinal type valve. Let us know how you get on :o)

That was quick! Thank you. I will try bleeding it, and will see what happens. Will let you know :-)

if bleeding it doesn't help it may be the return valve that isn't opened wide enough. That's the valve at the other side of the radiator from the inlet control valve. It may not have a handle on it, just a grooved screw.

After bleeding, if necessary, you should be aiming for about a 20 degrees F (10 degrees C) drop in temperature from the input pipe to the output pipe. Open both the input and output valve (thermostatic or otherwise) fully and with the pump running measure the temperatures on the pipes (you can get clip on thermometers) then close down the output pipe valve a little bit, leave for a while, say 15 minutes and see what the temp difference is and gradually keep closing down the output valve till you get near the difference stated earlier.
