Does anyone know where I can buy cheerful, bright,. slightly funky clothes for a five ear old boy? I'm sick of only being able to get, navy, grey, blue, black with great big logos plastered all over them.

I do, of course, mean five year old boy!
George at ASDA, Mackeys and Next are pretty good and not too pricey since they will be spending most of their time int he washer!
I have the same problem! My three year old looks like he is in constant mourning! Hennes do some nice stuff - and Verdaubet and La Redoute. (Apologies about spelling!) Have a look on the interent. Go for european clothes - much brighter and cheerful. Also try Quiksilver and O Neil surf wear for kids. I am afraid that you will end up paying more for cheerier boys clothes - so I dress him down for nursery and truly funkily for weekends! Try ebay as well fro some of the designer stuff. : )
Charity shops - trust me - as you will know kids clothes last 5 minutes due to their speedy growth so if you go to a charity shop you will see an abundance of nearly new/very new kids clothes usually designer labels too, for next to nothing. We shop there all the time for my young boy and he's got the best wardrobe in the whole family!!!! (certainly got more designer labels than my sorry wardrobe)
I've used this site plenty: www.haburi.com and been impressed by price and selection of kids stuff. The UK part is currently being "refurbished" but its worth hanging onto the link and trying it.

Thanks guys, there were some useful suggestions for places I haven't tried.
My favourite clothes site for my 5 year old boy is Boden http://www.boden.co.uk/c.asp?segid=5&segname=Mini
It
does appear a bit pricey, but the sales they do are fantastic, normally 50% off. Get yourself on their mailing list and they let you know the minute they reduce things!
