Hey i am currently renting property which i am leaving between january and march and i need to get the carpet cleaned beforehand as its a very light colour and covered in dirt and stains, i was wondering does anyone know of any good carpet cleaning companies around the Kidderminster area? I have done a search on all of the companies but im not sure which one to go with or what their reputation is like. Any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers

Rent a rug doctor from Tesco or Homebase and do it yourself if your rental agreement allows it. They are very good and will get the carpet clean. Also very cheap to do it this way as rent and detergent will only cost about 20.
B&Q do 'em too.

cheers but are they any good? as my carpet is a light beigh and coloured in blackish brown beer stains its terrible!!!
I have used them several times and always found they get rid of carpet stains. You can get a stain remover spray to use with it that works well and also the shampoo is good stuff. Worth a go as hiring someone to come a do it will be expensive.
If you decide to do it yourself follow the instructions carefully! and dont clean the carpet more than once! my mum did hers herself and after letting it dry decided to have another go - disastrous! her carpet has now been stretched and has got kinks in it! i have today hired a company to clean my carpet, i was embarrassed as the stains on it were awful, i've also got a beige carpet and every mark shows up, there were numerous drink spills and mud stains everywhere! i thought they would never get it looking as new again but they did a fab job and it was well worth the money.
Yes be careful, if you are renting, you may not get some of your deposit back if the room smells of chemicals or something should happen to the carpet. To be honest If you are renting, I would get a professional to do it, that way you have their receipt should anything go wrong and also be able to prove to the landlord that you have done it, especially if they had it professionally cleaned when you moved in, you may need to do this on the way out. I would check.

Yes i think im going to get it proffesionally cleaned as i dont really know my carpet type etc and knowing my luck id ruin it and lose my deposit thankyou so much for all of your advice!
Eyeshadow- well the carpets were all brand new when we moved in and now the light beige living room one is a complete state so we will have to get it cleaned to restore it back to its old self! the problem with this house i am renting is it was done up to sell so all painted white/cream and white carpets etc which look nice but arent good for living in really!the landlords promised us a long term renting but now have sold the house without us knowing after weve been here just 3 months!
We've used Rug Doctors for years with no problems at all, they are very effective.

However, if you want to try a professional, I used our local ChemDry franchise to clean our 3-piece-suite (they do carpets as well!), and they were brilliant. The guy really knew what he was doing, he was thorough and efficient - it wasn't cheap (around 150-200 as I recall) but it's bought us a good few years more with the suite.

Go to www.chemdry.co.uk and enter your postcode to find your local operator.
