Does anyone know how to remove water type marks on stainless steel ? (Caused by starchy water from potatoes boiling over).Conventional cleaning products dont seem to shift it.

I have the same problem. I've tried just about every proprietary stainless steel cleaner on the market, so I wouldn't bother wasting your money. I find white/distilled vinegar helps a lot if you use it regularly, but make sure you rub it off well (I use Mr Muscle window cleaner after using the vinegar).
I use a product called ' Shiny Sinks ' on all my stainless steel kitchen appliances. It works superbly well with very little effort. I buy it from Asda,
Have a look at www.cleanuppages.com/clean/stainlesssteel.htm I did a google search for "stainless steel stains"
chijiki, I use the same stuff and it works brilliantly on any stainless steel. If you use a non-scratch scourer to put it on and then a wet cotton cloth to remove it and then buff with another dry cotton cloth it will come up like new.
