Daughter has just come home from a wild weekend, and has dried on red wine on her new white top (viscose and elastane.) Will she have to chuck it or can anyone recommend how we might 'sae its life?' Thanking you in anticipation.

I remember reading somewhere that the red wine stain can be lifted by using white wine, may be worth a try ?
It's always best to test on an odd piece of cloth first.
Good luck Tbied+
White wine only lifts the stain when it's Fresh example you're at the table and get a splash of red wine somewhere you immediately go for the white wine bottle. Once the red wine has been absorbed you need to soak the clothing in water, wash in the hottest wash the article allows you to, and cross your fingers. 90% of the time this works.
ACE bleach got rid of my day-old red wine stain with no trouble. In fact it gets most stains out and doesn't affect the colour of the garment.......wouldn't be without it!!

Vanish is much the same thing. Whichever you choose, just put it on the stain immediately before you wash - available in supermarkets along with the detergents.

THANK YOU ALL - for your answers. The offending stain has been successfully removed - I sprayed with vanish and soaked in water for two hours. Then washed at 40 degrees. It came out beautifully - thanks again.
