generator wiring

I have 5.5kva petrol generator which was work fine, The other day i used it turn it off went to turn it back on it wouldnt start. Iput some blocks into the back off the van and have now found that all of the conection have been pulled apart not sure hiw they go back together thare is also a sensor of some sort on the side and wonder if that my be damaged thanks for any help

Helps to know what make it is- most of them have manuals on the internet- for instance Honda 5.5kVA genny is at http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/Gen_Own_Web /pages/pdf/31ZD1600.pdf and that includes a wiring diagram
