Cleaning

I need help with ideas for cleaning for my kitchen. There is a horrid build up of limescale on my aluminium work surface that just doesn't want to budge. Any ideas as to how I can get it gleaming again?
Also my oven is in the wall at head height (not my idea) and it makes it quite difficult to clean the oven glass door as it opens outwards, not downwards. Any ideas on how I can get it clean as it has a big build up of grease and any cleaner I use just drips off before its had time to settle in.
Also I don't live in the UK so brand buying is difficult. I know this is a lot to ask, but any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Soda for cleaning your glass door. You can buy "liquid crystals" soda which is more like a gel, but as you have gravity to contend with you could dip a rough sponge in hot water, dip it into some soda crystals or powder and then just keep rubbing. It works.

Don't know if this helps but kleeneze do a cleaning "paste" called astonish, lots of other companies do the same type of cleaning paste. This stuff has taken off grease and limescale from kitchen sink, oven and other surfaces. It takes a bit of elbow grease but you dont need a rough scourer just a damp cloth and the paste Also taken off limescale from taps and toilets. There are no chemical smells and I don't know how it works, but it does. Hope this helps and good luck.
