We have a small Chubb safe (not much money in it) that I opened this am to find a bank card with number in order to speak to bank re an over charge - which fortunately they agreed to do. However when I closed the safe a plastic bag caught in the corner of the door and neither the knob or key will turn fully to lock/unlock and I cannot open it. Chubb quoted a minimum call out charge of 98+ ,a local company 65, Insurance has 50 excess. Please can anyone advise how I can open without charge
Get a piece of wood & a lump hammer. Put the safe on it's back & put the wood on the door, hit the wood with the hammer whilst simultaneously turning the key. This might work!
The bag is likely causing the door not too close properly. If you can press the door any further closed while attempting to unlock the door, you may be able to get it open.
