Can anyone help please? We've put ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor, and need to shave about half an inch off the wash basin pedestal to re-fit it. Does anyone know how we can do this?

Thanks.

You can try, but it will look a right mess! You're going to have to remove the basin, put it on top of the pedestal & re-plumb the pipes. If the taps havn't got service valves on them, then this is the time to fit them.
Yup, its not possible. The only alternative to the above is to take the tiles off immediately around the pedestal, put the pedestal back and cut more tiles to fit around the pedestal. Fill any gap with silicone.

Thanks so much guys. I told him to leave the pedestal and cut the tiles around it in the first place. Men!! Honestly!! Why do they never listen? Oh oh, maybe that's a question for a different section of Answerbank!

Thanks again.
