Rabbit with abscess problem
Has anybody out there had any success treating pet rabbit with abscess on lower jaw line. Vet lanced it once and said not a lot more can be done as infection is in bone. Rabbit is fine at present and on anti biotics but vet seems to have written him off already .

Antibiotics may often help, and often push them into "stasis", but they will never go away and will often flare up from time to time.
Attempting treatment can involve lots of anaesthetics, flushing, scraping and packing the bone and with no guarantee of success.
Although risky in rabbits, penicillins have often given encouraging results. However they can also lead to fatal diarrhoeas so have to be used with caution.
Good luck.

you could try collodial silver - both internally in his water, and washing the abscess with it - http://www.uk-cs.co.uk/home2.htm
