i have some candytuft and virginia stocks. under where to sow, its states that it should be in a prepared seed bed in flowering position. i find that this would be inpractical. can i sow these seed and than plant on into the flowering position?

Yes. Some plants don't like being pricked out, hence why they insist on sowing directly into the soil, but these two don't mind. Make sure you take a bit of soil with the root when pricking out to give them a good start.

Haven't heard of the first and nasturtium seeds are so big I'd just pop one in each little pot, then plant out when frosts are at bay.
