Weed & Feed

To any Lawn experts out there... Are there any really effective Weed & Feed products on the market ?
Seem to pay over the top for stuff that does not quite "do what it says on the tin"..

I spread it over the lawn, then do it a second time so as to give it two applications. With twice the recommended amount, I find it works fine.

Quite some years ago we had a gardening club at work and they produced a `Home Made` weed and feed that was really effective, sadly no longer.
So, have used the usual... Evergreen products etc mainly from B&Q or Homebase.
Any suggestions ?

I have a grass tennis court so spend a lot of time on my lawn. Evergreen Complete is the only decent Evergreen product they do. I use it for weeds and it will work if you use the Evergreen spreader (about �29) to get the correct amount on the lawn. It may take 2 aplications over 5-6 weeks. I then use Pentagon Prestige High NK (This you Can Not get at BNQ, Homebase, etc...) This makes the lawn a nice healthy green. (They deliver to some of the best lawns in the UK) You could phone up and ask for a product and price guide, it has every product for your lawn you can think of. You will end up with a lawn like centre court wimbledon. Hope this helps mate, sorry it was so long.

Hi, we had buttercups and moss on our lawn and had been using products from a garden centre which were working out expensive on our 500 square metre lawn.

We found a site that supplies professional lawn care and sports turf items and they recommend a Scotts weed and feed in a large size bag - called Renovator Pro. It had iron which takes out the moss. Delivery was next day and the product worked extremely well.
