Good morning all!
We have a fairly large area of very old/broken paving (as it is a rented flat we don't want the expense of replacing it) and I am driven nuts by having to weed it all the time. (can't use proprietary weedkiller coz of our cats). I wonder if anyone knows of a plant that is easy to grow from seed that will creep into the spaces between the paving stones. The idea I have is to put some compost in the gaps then scatter seed. I have heard that creeping thyme is good and tolerates being trodden on (which camomile doesn't) but are there any other plants which would fit the bill? Thanks, Maz

we get alyssum popping up in cracks from time to time - not planted and not specially hardy, but rather pretty
Mind you own business. No not you ! I mean the plant it's call mind-your-own business or baby's tears.
It has minute flowers and leaves often grown as a ground-cover rockery plant.
Be warned it can be a tough plant to get rid of if you decide that you no longer like it.
Loads of info if you google the names. Good Luck Tbird+

Thank you both-I shall try alyssum and will also 'mind my own business!!' LOL. To be serious, the whole area would look better even if there's rampantly growing plants so the wider the spread and quicker the growth the better.
Many thanks-off to buy some seeds now!! Maz
